The Manx Foundation Provides Four Main Services
Day Service
This is a service for adults who have physical disabilities. It is available Monday to Friday except for Christmas, New Year, TT fortnight and bank holidays.

We offer a range of activities, entertainment and outings which are planned over a five week period. A small selection of what we offer is:
- pet therapy;
- manicures;
- crafts;
- quizzes;
- theatre;
- chair based exercise;
- gardening;
- bingo and card games; and
- for the more adventurous activities such as sailing and horse riding can be arranged
Our activities are all person centred and designed as far as possible around individual service users.
We are able to cater for people who have difficulties with communication and if necessary use a board maker to help us establish what people need. We are also able to liaise with healthcare professionals for advice on aids and adaptations and other healthcare services.
Our care staff are fully trained to support people with their personal care needs and we have showering and personal care facilities and equipment that may be required to support people’s needs. Our care staff are also able to administer or assist in the administration of medication.
If you would like to attend the Day Club, or know someone who would, please contact Judy Starkey, Service Co-ordinator, on 628926. The assessment officer will then visit to assess your needs and can arrange a visit for you and your family to Masham Court.
Young Ones
This service is specifically aimed at adults between the ages of 18 and 45 who are physically disabled. It runs for three days a week, currently Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and the focus for this group is community based with a range of activities that encourage the development of new skills.
In addition to the range of activities, entertainment and outings which are provided for our Day Club, the Young Ones participate in cooking as well as sports development at the NSC, and other practical activities.
If you would like to attend the Young Ones, or know someone who would, please contact Judy Starkey, Service Co-ordinator, on 628926. However, referrals for this service have to be approved by Social Services as this group is specifically funded by the Department of Social Care.
Access Office
The Access Office is a service provided by the Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled in conjunction with the Government Departments of Social Care and Infrastructure.
We provide information, advice and guidance to anyone who may have a question or a problem regarding access to buildings, goods or services on the Isle of Man or other issues affecting the lives of people who live with impairments.
Although the service is provided by the Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled our Access Service includes all disabilities.
In addition to information and advice, the Access Office provides an Access auditing service and can also arrange Access Audit training for individuals or small groups. We also deliver Disability Awareness Training for individuals or groups at Masham Court or in your workplace.
The aim of the Access Office is to help the Isle of Man develop a community and built environment that is inclusive and which enables people with impairments to take an active part in activities, have the freedom to earn and spend money and to make a valuable contribution to society.
For more information about the work or services provided by the Access Office please contact Michelle Brady, Access Officer, on 01624 619937 or by email at accessoffice@manxfoundation.co.uk.
Community Transport
Community Transport provides a minibus service for people residing in the Douglas and Onchan areas who find it difficult or impossible to use conventional forms of public or private transport.
We have a specially adapted minibus with a tail-lift and low access steps with grab rails and can transport people with a wide range of disabilities in a safe and comfortable vehicle.
Members of this service can use it for set routes on a Wednesday between the hours of 10.00 am and 3.00 pm.
In order to use this service you will need to become a Member which costs £10 to register for a year. A single journey currently costs £2.50.
